Hydrocephalus is a term derived from the Greek words “hydro” and “cephalus” meaning water and head, respectively. Simply put, it means water found in the brain. In this case however, water is actually cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) which is a clear fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. CSF serves three very important functions: 1. Keeping the brain tissue afloat, 2. Filters out waste and acts as a channel for delivering nutrients to the brain and 3. Helps to keep the appropriate amount of blood in the brain.
Over-accumulation of CSF in the brain causes widening of spaces in the brain called ventricles. This can create detrimental pressure on the brain tissue which is what causes hydrocephalus.
Hydrocephalus may be present at birth (congenital) or acquired in life. A consultation with Dr. Yashar and appropriate imaging tests will help to diagnose hydrocephalus. Surgery is the most common treatment available.

- I realized that Dr. Yashar genuinely cares to cure his patient with or without money, which makes him an exceptional doctor in a city that most physicians don't even listen to their patients, and all they do is to collect $ and ignore patients. At Dr. Yashar office I dealt with Amber and Michael who has been a credit to their profession and went above and beyond patient satisfaction.
